<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmp_8ItrEB4c2QhJqKfmw-sJtM7EueHM8nAzAD59ZDI0QO51TAmYUkjAUCCGOH0Tgfr_hsD0Ac0LDZtXaeTuaeoXKI9VbYeo1SLwD1rdj6Go2z0EEkX9RHoAKnblCx4cC40cPitQJnLMM/s1600/IMG_1687.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmp_8ItrEB4c2QhJqKfmw-sJtM7EueHM8nAzAD59ZDI0QO51TAmYUkjAUCCGOH0Tgfr_hsD0Ac0LDZtXaeTuaeoXKI9VbYeo1SLwD1rdj6Go2z0EEkX9RHoAKnblCx4cC40cPitQJnLMM/s320/IMG_1687.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I did some beeswax wraps last fall, and they turned out great. I opted for a method, where you iron the wax on the cloth. I don't have a video tutorial for that, but I'll explain what I did.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">First, I lined my worktop with an old towel and laid a sheet of parchment paper on top. Then you place your cloth on top of the parchment paper. Make sure, your paper is much larger than your wrap, as the wax will melt and tries to run off the parchment paper.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Then I sprinkled some beeswax pellets, pine resin and jojoba oil on top of the cloth. Now my pine resin was in half inch size pieces, so I placed some in a ziplock bag, covered with another ziplock bag and hammered it away. The problem was, that the resin is sharp, so it pierced the bags and some of it stuck on my cutting board. Luckily I used an old board, so I just tossed it away after.</span><br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6hVOSLdXcf3InUazTXDpmY0ZzUcbtOhG-MTxDtl10PCeGqIpYKSnUhxE2UiXfVG-GKw-vwTYI79BYb4u-lDUhBUeK-bGiCRS6BcjwDF1ZmkD0tCJjRdsHX7m2pIL-GVXvIocYk3ku8N8/s1600/IMG_1672.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6hVOSLdXcf3InUazTXDpmY0ZzUcbtOhG-MTxDtl10PCeGqIpYKSnUhxE2UiXfVG-GKw-vwTYI79BYb4u-lDUhBUeK-bGiCRS6BcjwDF1ZmkD0tCJjRdsHX7m2pIL-GVXvIocYk3ku8N8/s320/IMG_1672.JPG" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">old beeswax wraps ready to be re-waxed</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Then you layer a second piece of parchment paper on top of the cloth, and iron so, that the resin and wax melt (make sure you don't get any wax on your iron!!)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Problem with this method was, that some spots had more resin than others, and also the jojoba oil was not distributed evenly. I also used too much wax.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So this time, I wanted to try the oven method, with pre-melted wax.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here is the recipe:</span><br />
<span style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">0.5 oz pine resin</span><br />
<span style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">1.25 oz beeswax</span><br />
<span style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">1 tbsp jojoba oil</span><br />
<span style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I actually doubled the recipe, and was able to re-wax 8 old wraps and do 7 new ones with that amount. I wish I would have done even a bigger batch, as apparently reheating the mixture will be much faster, as the pine resin is mixed evenly with the beeswax and jojoba oil.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I placed some pine resin into a stainless steel can (wide enough to fit a paint brush in) and placed it into a double boiler (water bath) on the stovetop. It took over an hour to melt the pine resin!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Once your resin is melted, you can add the beeswax pellets and jojoba oil. The beeswax melts in about 5-10 minutes.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIYJSbWHdJe1UxeHBlcOZxqg95Gcs8F8_BcQ85WT1_mR6oFBsOj5YLhakHOyUPOF91Njw9T-tA3KhJxf5q2UKoYXcDTaLL_zc8wnkOAMv4ZpfJyTYMBnrTiUfbGrKbY8eaNjLF0crK-wM/s1600/IMG_1677.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIYJSbWHdJe1UxeHBlcOZxqg95Gcs8F8_BcQ85WT1_mR6oFBsOj5YLhakHOyUPOF91Njw9T-tA3KhJxf5q2UKoYXcDTaLL_zc8wnkOAMv4ZpfJyTYMBnrTiUfbGrKbY8eaNjLF0crK-wM/s400/IMG_1677.JPG" width="300" /></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Heat your oven to 300ºF (150ºC) and line it with parchment paper (use an old cookie tray, or make sure your tray is fully covered).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Place the wrap on the parchment paper and use a paint brush to spread the melted wax mixture on the wrap. You don't have to get a 100% coverage, as you will put this into the oven for 2-3 minutes, and the wax will absorb to the fabric.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Once you remove your wrap from the oven, you can reapply wax if there are uncovered spots, and return it back to oven. Once you have full coverage, you can almost immediately remove it from the cookie tray and lift the wrap on a clean parchment paper away from the stove heat. The wax will harden in few seconds.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Do not use wraps with meat, specially raw, as you cannot wash them with warm water. Use cool water and mild dish soap, if needed and hang them to dry.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The wraps will last approximately 6 months, depending on the usage.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">TIP:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">cut your fabric using pinking sheers, as the zigzag will prevent the fabric from fraying.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I wanted to make 'Shimmer & Shine' Barbie dolls for my niece, and for that I needed a pink and blue haired dolls. I know you can buy those, but I had seen people dye their doll hairs so I went to Value Village and got two Barbie dolls for few dollars.</span><div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmRj6horSBYKFs2JRxewGhWQT3B3CjJv6YYt7CtJpAcbt5BQELVVVeMt22v-4Q_oPIomRni83CuUwqnMoNtYEW7oRroSv6TNe141_eFiT5_fRFlScqfoTPbxlqt5jCP0vmY05330R6sTA/s1600/IMG_1599.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmRj6horSBYKFs2JRxewGhWQT3B3CjJv6YYt7CtJpAcbt5BQELVVVeMt22v-4Q_oPIomRni83CuUwqnMoNtYEW7oRroSv6TNe141_eFiT5_fRFlScqfoTPbxlqt5jCP0vmY05330R6sTA/s320/IMG_1599.JPG" width="240" /></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The pink doll already had 80% pink hair, with blond high lights. I tried to dye the rest of the hair pink, using acrylic paint, but it didn't stay as vibrant after the wash. But my niece was happy with the slightly tinted hair, so I left it as it is.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The blue turned out to be a bigger problem. The acrylic paint just tinted the hair pale green (like she would have been at the swimming pool too long). Then I tried fabric paint (just from the craft store). No change.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

I used the one for synthetic fabrics. I did cover the face with masking tape, but I think it might have been better not to cover the face, and wipe the face when ever the dye got to her face. Now the masking tape got soaked in the dye, and allowed the dye to sit on the face several minutes.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

So off to google to find out how to remove the stains. I tried nail polish - no change. I tried rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl alcohol) - no change. Then I read about Acne treatment option. The one they had used was 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, but the only ones I was able to find (in Canada) were 5% (I even asked the pharmacy). So I figured it should work, but maybe need multiple treatments.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht8nfjshaZExU6aJb2YunFFqRI5JCWTbFDQgQgdPd34aqO4-IiJmWIYRNPyAe1bTd9tdIhXki_-TqnZ2hFXORmGD-RDINt8TDW8dZ8pMv4BlATnSx2WVqv_CTZvNiGtcQuWRkPY_AyJ4c/s1600/IMG_1641.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht8nfjshaZExU6aJb2YunFFqRI5JCWTbFDQgQgdPd34aqO4-IiJmWIYRNPyAe1bTd9tdIhXki_-TqnZ2hFXORmGD-RDINt8TDW8dZ8pMv4BlATnSx2WVqv_CTZvNiGtcQuWRkPY_AyJ4c/s320/IMG_1641.JPG" width="240" /></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">It took me 4 treatments. I applied the lotion on the forehead, covered it with cling wrap, heated it with hairdryer and placed it under a desk lamp for the day or overnight. I wiped of the ointment, and reapplied. The face still has a hint of blue on it, but it is barely visible. As you can see, the hair is more vibrant in this picture, compared to the one above. I did do several strikes with Sharpie, and blended the colour with a Q-tip soaked in rubbing alcohol. The hair was super bright, but once I rinsed it with fabric softener, it turned out perfect.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Okay, this is totally out of my comfort zone and a bunch of first things for me!</span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I found this old desk lamp at my in-laws garage. The wire was frayed and the switch was broken. But the lamp looked so nice, I figured I'd like to get it rewired. When I looked at it at home, I thought, well I'm going to take it apart and see if I could rewire it myself.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/fB6s30W0E-k/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fB6s30W0E-k?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I took a women's handyman course several years ago, and we did some simple electrical wiring there (mainly light switches and wall plugs), so I wasn't totally unfamiliar with electrical stuff.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I went to my local Home Depot and got some supplies and got some wrong ones too, so took me few visits to the store.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This was my first video, so it is a bit long (14 minutes). I tried to cut out anything that was not needed, to get it to this length. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So, some of you may have heard this already, but I've decided to leave Stampin'Up! this year. Not that I would stop crafting and making cards, I just find I don't have the same drive and time to do cards, and I felt bad not giving it my 100%. Part of the problem has been me being away from Ottawa for longer periods of time, and often that happened during the catalogue change time, so it was always a hassle for me to get the catalogues out.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So, I still have my demonstrator status, but I will be losing it within the next 6 months or so (I will only stay active, if I keep my orders up, and I'm not planning doing that.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">One of my regular customers, Rebecca James, joined Stampin'Up! and you can find her website here <a href="http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/thestampinlink">http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/thestampinlink</a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">And with new year, everybody starts new health regimes, so I made some exercise outfits for my nieces Barbie dolls</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So my niece is into Barbie dolls, and Disney princesses. She has several Disney Princess dolls in Barbie size, but since she is missing few, I decided to crochet her few dresses, that she can use on regular Barbie dolls.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The first one is Belle's dress. It is a one piece dress, with a scallop ruffle at the neck line, and at the hem.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><div style="text-align: center;">
Okay, it has almost 4 months that I haven't touched my stampin' supplies! Well, I did unpack my latest shipment, but didn't create anything with them for several weeks.</div>
</span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZTfrW6Q-K6d_SCRQCpqT9jETIZhSdex2c5w_vOrPTEFGCGF-6JcH0-mhhyoYVGauAOk7LepO_oR5SrPykLYBHZh3uk6jkHRwrYvBKJi8-LCVQubnC8qdSVRkQboS_o-KTDZbZog8ceEs/s1600/IMG_1014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="852" data-original-width="1104" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZTfrW6Q-K6d_SCRQCpqT9jETIZhSdex2c5w_vOrPTEFGCGF-6JcH0-mhhyoYVGauAOk7LepO_oR5SrPykLYBHZh3uk6jkHRwrYvBKJi8-LCVQubnC8qdSVRkQboS_o-KTDZbZog8ceEs/s400/IMG_1014.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I got back to Ottawa at the end of September, with a terrible cold, so had to recover from that. Then tried to get everything unpacked and pack things for the Thanksgiving weekend at the cottage (and plan the meals too). Then finally got home from there, and of course, had to unpack the Thanksgiving stuff.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Then the house needed a through cleaning, after all, nobody cleaned it while we were gone.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Detail of the leaf and layers</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So, now the house is clean (except my craft room is a mess, since everything I brought back from the cottage and from Finland, I just tossed into the room, and closed the door. So next job is to put things back into their places.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">But I did manage to create few cards, using some new stamps and tools.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><i>The supplies for the first card were: Seasonal Layers and Stitched shapes framelits, Wood Textures 6"x6" designer series paper, 3/16" braided linen trim (holiday catalogue) and the card stocks are: Whisper White, Early Espresso and Sahara Sand, and the leaf is cut from copper foil sheet.</i></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The second card actually has two variations.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The card base is Sahara Sand (oh wait... it might have been the new Gray Granite... didn't write it down and was debating which one to use... now I cannot remember.. oops...)</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><div style="font-size: x-large; text-align: left;">
The second version uses the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Both folders are from the Holiday Catalogue. This one I find crinkles the paper more than the Tin Tile folder, but it actually didn't bother me, as corrugated seldom is smooth anyways.. right???</div>
<div style="font-size: x-large; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>The flowers are made with Varied Vases stamp set and the matching Vases Builder punch. The background for the flowers is from the Wood Textures 6"x6" designer series paper pack, and was cut out with the Stitched Shapes framelit die. The colours for the flowers are Mango Melody and Olive Green. The greeting ('Hello' and 'Thanks') are also from the Varied Vases stamp set and were stamped on a wood grain paper from the Wood Textures 6"x6" designer series paper pack, and I cut the ends with scissors. The base ribbon is 5/8" burlap ribbon, and the top lace is a retired lace ribbon (as I realized I didn't have the new lace trim!)</i></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe5QAnHi-XnR-sdYQ-qCERxFE6u0smaXO9_HGFmsf0nS7opRsy4_PBZfngYdArRbteTN47m4js4ld2LFDTmYuQU6ACRyf6d0OTQpFSK2ypLs8Pp7VEG8m6bw22aIRbrsqWQGE7yL4waAk/s1600/IMG_0423.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1337" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe5QAnHi-XnR-sdYQ-qCERxFE6u0smaXO9_HGFmsf0nS7opRsy4_PBZfngYdArRbteTN47m4js4ld2LFDTmYuQU6ACRyf6d0OTQpFSK2ypLs8Pp7VEG8m6bw22aIRbrsqWQGE7yL4waAk/s400/IMG_0423.jpg" width="333" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Well, I just don't let them dry in-between colours, and then things turn brown.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Like this first card, I wanted more 'blue sky' effect, maybe a hint of red as a sunset, but I put both colours in at the same time, and then went over with a brush... oh well... it turned reddish brown. But the green part actually turned out really neat, almost like a gate to a different world. The stamp is from Enjoy Life stamp set, designed by a fellow Stampin'Up! demonstrator Connie Fitzgerald as part of her Million Sales Achiever. Quite an achievement, I must say. And I'm also very happy to say, that I don't see myself reaching that level, so I don't have to worry about designing a stamp set (although I'm pretty sure Stampin'Up! would have someone help me...)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The greeting is cut out of Brusho Crystal coloured paper using Happy Birthday Framelit.</span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQrShG8JkoNWTIII9xRyqNWRa78G1TfD2N1N7BVSvYBw7G1J17bkW0BmgdWe97nXW93482HeNvD0tdU1p5VFPzzDAhhDVQ0WxkaXilHcfouqvYAbWPszsOAY5ZNTJvYyO2nC-syFKajR8/s1600/IMG_0424.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1420" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQrShG8JkoNWTIII9xRyqNWRa78G1TfD2N1N7BVSvYBw7G1J17bkW0BmgdWe97nXW93482HeNvD0tdU1p5VFPzzDAhhDVQ0WxkaXilHcfouqvYAbWPszsOAY5ZNTJvYyO2nC-syFKajR8/s400/IMG_0424.jpg" width="355" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The second card uses the same stamp set 'Enjoy Life' and the background is also made using Brusho Crystals, but this time I kept the colours a bit more separated, and went over sideways with a paintbrush.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Both cards were made using Shimmery White card stock, which can handle watercoloring better than regular Whisper White card stock. I still haven't been able to keep my card bases straight... maybe I need to dry them with heat gun....</span>Tanja Neuvonen-Del Boscohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03571532313395030070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-955945506817430588.post-3237709144902667432018-06-28T18:22:00.000-04:002018-06-28T18:22:00.419-04:00Summer holidays are here - just breath!<br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I thought this was a perfect card for Tom to give out at the end of the school year. Being a teacher (in high school) is tough, so Tom is looking forward to this summer break, and I figured his colleagues must be feeling the same, so they would appreciate this card.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

All are made using Colourful Seasons stamp set and matching framelits. </span><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">he card base is thick Whisper White card stock on all. And the colours are Early Espresso and Pacific Point.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The first one actually has nothing cut with a framelit and is very simple, single layer card. I stamped the blue square with inked stamp block (didn't add any water, as I wanted a 'grainy' look on this. Then stamped the greeting and the seat frame in Early Espresso and the canvas seat in Pacific Point.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0v5VgQEaupZ9hszD2xI5dttLiO7yis_3mYm9TZ4th5SHDlfjrg3L0PzPopjBwdaS5mT2FnuIcLBpl6z2l5cBOVlg09d1yI7l5fNaMeF2Ai8Bn3wqQBYxzm-tcn9dC3NQxg6nFwvhutjY/s1600/IMG_0419.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1501" data-original-width="1266" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0v5VgQEaupZ9hszD2xI5dttLiO7yis_3mYm9TZ4th5SHDlfjrg3L0PzPopjBwdaS5mT2FnuIcLBpl6z2l5cBOVlg09d1yI7l5fNaMeF2Ai8Bn3wqQBYxzm-tcn9dC3NQxg6nFwvhutjY/s200/IMG_0419.jpg" width="168" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">
</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The second version had the same background, but instead of stamping the chair, I cut out a chair from Shimmery White card stock using the adirondack die from the framelit set. This also is a single layer card.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The third card (which was my favourite), Has a watercolour effect brushed using a paint brush and Pacific Point ink (I wetted the Shimmery White card stock base with spritzer bottle before spreading the ink.) This card has two layers, the Shimmery White card is glued on a Whisper White card base. And the chairs are popped up with mini-dimensionals.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdK5e-0hCdcUe2j4s-ZFJXKD9jQFQ7znTOSHS3xWkAMNAU44OT2W7BJlGrn5kGRlFLcY9i02GiZVXO02aHmDS7-OwRu66dBHK_XGUHkdTJW-bYE50Wv4cAs8blTWo5Gwn7Bsqb6G03k2U/s1600/IMG_0422.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1524" data-original-width="1600" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdK5e-0hCdcUe2j4s-ZFJXKD9jQFQ7znTOSHS3xWkAMNAU44OT2W7BJlGrn5kGRlFLcY9i02GiZVXO02aHmDS7-OwRu66dBHK_XGUHkdTJW-bYE50Wv4cAs8blTWo5Gwn7Bsqb6G03k2U/s400/IMG_0422.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The first one uses a 'shrub' stamp from 'Enjoy Life' stamp set. I used 4 different colours stamping the image multiple times at the bottom of the Whisper White card stock. The colours were 'Soft Sea Foam', 'Gray Granite', 'Balmy Blue' and 'Petal Pink'. The card base is 'Gray Granite'. I also used the new Petal Pink and Silver Bakers twine.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNoUkvCfb52liHEKlk_8wMPL_6J_5Qh-5rN57KTFTPhh8WT-NTUlFQorOjAOVhy-I1r_ObNo-sZp7XpuCcbQPKhWBgX_dO4RSZJarXs2G9Lrpui41eSOYnYK17wfH4TT5GAtgOXNhZ7Lw/s1600/IMG_0421.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1554" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNoUkvCfb52liHEKlk_8wMPL_6J_5Qh-5rN57KTFTPhh8WT-NTUlFQorOjAOVhy-I1r_ObNo-sZp7XpuCcbQPKhWBgX_dO4RSZJarXs2G9Lrpui41eSOYnYK17wfH4TT5GAtgOXNhZ7Lw/s400/IMG_0421.jpg" width="387" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The second card is made using 'Varied Vases' stamp set and Tropical Escape 6x6 paper. The 'Varied Vases' is also designed by a fellow Stampin'Up! demonstrator Mary Fish, who designed this set as a reward for Million Sales Achiever. The colours used for stamping are 'Berry Burst', 'Soft Sea Foam', 'Balmy Blue' and... oh well.. one of the pinks... I think Powder Pink or Blushing Bride... Cannot remember and didn't write it down. the flowers are then coloured using Blender Pen and matching ink, to create a more subtle look.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtZU09vv-Irj4e5obAgDoz5azThSwY7VbVFreyuwd5t4uEhPtfCQzmyluO3bsmbrd8YvANN2PkV43e3_9cXKDp4jERQjH3vmwj037IfNyNqV6JkDwlWsR8zbRwmLlel8ifdM8ATJZq0L0/s1600/IMG_0412.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1308" data-original-width="1600" height="325" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtZU09vv-Irj4e5obAgDoz5azThSwY7VbVFreyuwd5t4uEhPtfCQzmyluO3bsmbrd8YvANN2PkV43e3_9cXKDp4jERQjH3vmwj037IfNyNqV6JkDwlWsR8zbRwmLlel8ifdM8ATJZq0L0/s400/IMG_0412.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">My craft room was overtaken by a scrapbook project, which I wanted to get out of the way before staring to make any cards. Making cards takes so much less space! and is much faster too!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I believe I worked on that scrapbook for couple of weeks, then again, I created it from scratch, pages, covers etc, so that took most of the time. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">But now my desk is taken over by card making. Well, I had to create 14 cards for Tom to give out at the end of the school year and then made few cards myself.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">So back to the cherry blossoms....</span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVrMDntWX7DrvhJLqyb1UPy1BPulbtevMtLEJ3n26nEiEikED6EZ4SOq5C-JKjxsvwR2k-ZdH-0JKwQ6Epk7TP8WerlHlUBVANSq6s8JvJt-pAACsg0uICmm4c6yAvgE9wFT97zR_gqkA/s1600/IMG_0413.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1262" data-original-width="1600" height="252" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVrMDntWX7DrvhJLqyb1UPy1BPulbtevMtLEJ3n26nEiEikED6EZ4SOq5C-JKjxsvwR2k-ZdH-0JKwQ6Epk7TP8WerlHlUBVANSq6s8JvJt-pAACsg0uICmm4c6yAvgE9wFT97zR_gqkA/s320/IMG_0413.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I have had this Colourful Seasons stamp set for almost a year now, but haven't really gotten to use it a lot. I did make some fall cards and few Christmas cards, but mainly using the matching framelits. Always wanted to make a cherry blossom card - and finally I did!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">(I actually still have some cherry blossoms left, so there will be few more cards coming...)</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The first card was made using Berry Burst (2018-2019 in colour) and Early Espresso. I also added some pearls on the flowers.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The second card was made using Blushing Bride and Early Espresso. I think I personally like this one better. Well the first one is just a little bit too dark for cherry blossoms. The leftover blossoms I have are Flirty Flamingo and uninked white, so it will be interesting to see how they turn out.</span></span><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is not my dollhouse, but mine was exactly like this!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So I shipped my old dollhouse to Canada few years back. Took it apart, removed some old the previous renovation wallpapers (that I did as a teenager in the 80's).</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8eH9vEkDjGXloUGwOIMF0f_9F67OvNAHKSR1ceQkVzy-cMctyQcknVmSNsDkO9KtkWsZzmuK6XM1kSe8axqlZaRQpnKWhKe0YsxxsLXjDM-Two1vBMF8a9WYk-pIz8qXqrWoq8pfLb6s/s1600/IMG_2252.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1196" data-original-width="1600" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8eH9vEkDjGXloUGwOIMF0f_9F67OvNAHKSR1ceQkVzy-cMctyQcknVmSNsDkO9KtkWsZzmuK6XM1kSe8axqlZaRQpnKWhKe0YsxxsLXjDM-Two1vBMF8a9WYk-pIz8qXqrWoq8pfLb6s/s320/IMG_2252.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">It has stayed in the shipping package since then. Now that my niece is coming for a visit in few weeks time, I had to get the dollhouse back together.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA56fp8pnz-pKnfF4ox6_ObPJSFS8kc4vvKercXLwbxBUaEF2wceZ-yBAMx6a4_H0DAkLSZj8aRLuD-IbA1ES9SNfMLmwu1NRj7gyaEnUoPYb0a8fIaZ1g-Rkha6y2IFkntTvC6QsiDOs/s1600/IMG_0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA56fp8pnz-pKnfF4ox6_ObPJSFS8kc4vvKercXLwbxBUaEF2wceZ-yBAMx6a4_H0DAkLSZj8aRLuD-IbA1ES9SNfMLmwu1NRj7gyaEnUoPYb0a8fIaZ1g-Rkha6y2IFkntTvC6QsiDOs/s320/IMG_0002.JPG" width="320" /></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">So I sanded all the pieces and removed any leftover glue or wallpaper and then painted the walls. One of the upstairs room got a copper metallic paint (I used Fusion Mineral Paint as my paint). The other upstairs room is Sterling (light gray)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Downstairs backwall is Inglenook.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Two of the dividing walls got wallpaper (just some scrapbooking paper) on one side. I left one of the dividing walls out, got more of an open plan downstairs. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlWY_iHJarZyuuO75_2uaca7a9GTwuVllODJzrlXxAAbbp8LNGz-GqJBy0EyIHXb3zkXGsakEpW7YOjxjpEjMc446tU8fO5wxfYi_ggaJq1pD3HKPCTKogMtgZpN_PbvtHMzkamaZOoA8/s1600/IMG_9998.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlWY_iHJarZyuuO75_2uaca7a9GTwuVllODJzrlXxAAbbp8LNGz-GqJBy0EyIHXb3zkXGsakEpW7YOjxjpEjMc446tU8fO5wxfYi_ggaJq1pD3HKPCTKogMtgZpN_PbvtHMzkamaZOoA8/s320/IMG_9998.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I also added one window in the small downstairs room. That was designed as a washroom, but since I no longer have any bathroom pieces (and when I was a kid, my dolls didn't really go to the bathroom...) I figured I'll turn it into a small bedroom.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The floor was made from coffee stir sticks (thinner and narrower than popsicle sticks), which were really easy to cut to size with craft scissors (I used Tim Holtz scissors). </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I also used the coffee stir sticks as baseboards.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The staircase railing broke on transport, so I removed the piece that had the remnants of the spindles and used a piece of paint stir stick as the railing. It's probably not to 'code' (fairly low), but makes it easier to move the dolls up the stairs ;-)</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The next project was a small nightstand. The surface of it was in pretty bad condition, so I decided to paint it and wanted to try some decoupaging on this piece. The sides had perfect rectangular shapes, that I could fill with paper. Looking it now, I think I should have painted the piece lighter, as the contrast between the decoupage paper and the piece is a bit hard, but this is what it is now.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Then I wanted to test Indian Inlay Stencil. I knew it is a bit finicky, but I didn't want to try this stencil on a major piece of furniture without practising with it first. This was the first piece of stencilling, where I did more than just the top. I found it was tricky to keep the stencil on its place, specially on the narrow legs. So I would next time use a stencil adhesive to keep it down better. I guess I should also work with my patience. I'm always in a rush to get the item ready, so I'm really having hard time waiting for the previous stencilling to dry before tackling the next section.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">These cards were inspired by Dena Albec. They use Beautiful Day stamp set and Brusho Crystals.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I first embossed the butterflies (on both cards) in gold embossing powder on Shimmery White card stock (Shimmery White is the best card stock to use with Brusho crystals).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I also gold embossed the sentiment on Dabber Denim Card stock for one of the cards.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Then I coloured the butterflies with different techniques. The first one I sprinkled brusho on the card and spritzed it with water. I added some water on the butterfly wings with aqua painter ti cover the entire butterfly with colour.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The second card I used aquapainter to add water on the spots where I wanted yellow colour, and then sprinkled Yellow Brusho on those areas. Then I added water on the areas where I wanted green and sprinkled Moss Green on the butterfly. I tried to keep the colours away from each other. Then I added Prussian Blue to the centre parts of the butterfly wings.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><div style="text-align: center;">
Here is another card made using the 'Magical Day' stamp set and the matching thinlits.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisCzNZAzBaEhQa9YAgrdqvNcrv2U5L5Ey7B451ym_eGeavE9XfKx9CUMdxLQx3i6U1mdBSuJ1iOpwBjoPOJD1-WXVbuh6FR8KAV07-3NhItLwfkOaGI6jleddPCZw7M9xk8QcC3eA-iH8/s1600/P1040674.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1279" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisCzNZAzBaEhQa9YAgrdqvNcrv2U5L5Ey7B451ym_eGeavE9XfKx9CUMdxLQx3i6U1mdBSuJ1iOpwBjoPOJD1-WXVbuh6FR8KAV07-3NhItLwfkOaGI6jleddPCZw7M9xk8QcC3eA-iH8/s640/P1040674.jpg" width="510" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The background is made using Brusho Crystals. On this, I sprinkled the crystals on the card stock, and then spritzed it with water. You can see that the centre of the paper got quite wet, and the crystals blended more, and at the edges, the crystals make more of a splatter design. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This card also has some dazzling diamonds. </div>

This one I sprinkled Prussian Blue Brusho on the paper and then sprized it with water.</div>

I sprinkled Brilliant Red and Yellow Brusho on the paper and spritzed it with water. Then I let it dry completely, and then drew some swirls on the paper with aquapainter and sprinkled some more Yellow Brusho on the paper. You can actually also paint with Brusho! Just use a piece of plastic (or a clear block), sprinkle some crystals on it and use your aquapainter to pick the colour up!<br />

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I love this 'Celebrate You' thinlits die, available as a Sale-a-bration freebie, when placing an order of $120. Don't worry, you can get it also later this year, as it will show up again in the next annual Catalogue, at the beginning of June 2018. It has 3 dies, two of which have been used in this card. The third spells 'amazing' which I'll show in the next post.</span></div>
<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The stamp set on this one is 'Waterfront', from the Occasions catalogue p.48.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The background is made using Brusho Crystals, also on the Occasions catalogue, p.26. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The Brusho Crystals are a cool way to make different kind of backgrounds, and I've been using them lately in almost all of my cards, just to try out different ways of using them. I'm also planning on doing a Brusho class, maybe towards the end of February, early March.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Also the cut out 'celebrate' is made using Brusho. I splashed Brusho on white card stock and once it dried, I cut out the word using the Celebrate You thinlits.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I love this new 'Magical Day' stamp set!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I got it thinking it will make great cards for my niece, who is into Disney princesses. So far I have made couple of cards with it, and it is so versatile.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5pxR4iaUpc18qPAUWBtKPlA8BkP3mhkPnfi6PrJ9HQzyqXUEFoEzH8U7MvVmJRums94huLtb34XSuv6DIw3lksSqqZvr5711S7SgpVxBfftD0l-K-Zzw-Gb0VAtet0juv2GJXGh7etKA/s1600/IMG_9762.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5pxR4iaUpc18qPAUWBtKPlA8BkP3mhkPnfi6PrJ9HQzyqXUEFoEzH8U7MvVmJRums94huLtb34XSuv6DIw3lksSqqZvr5711S7SgpVxBfftD0l-K-Zzw-Gb0VAtet0juv2GJXGh7etKA/s640/IMG_9762.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">It has this cute unicorn stamp, and you know unicorns are such an IN item nowadays.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The pink is 'Blushing Bride and the I used Archival Basic Gray for the sentiment and unicorns. The bakers twine is the new whisper white with silver metallic thread.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The middle unicorn is cut out using the matching die and popped up with dimensionals. I also added one rhinestone on the unicorn. The background unicorns are randomly stamped in different angles.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Okay, Stampin'Up! has brought back the alcohol ink blend markers. You might remember they had these few years back (blendabilities), but they had some problems with the tips drying (they were not airtight). So now they have fixed the problem (??).</span><div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I know, I'm a Stampin'Up! independent demonstrator, but I haven't been able to jump this wagon yet. I guess I'm waiting for the verdict, weather they are problem free or ....</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I like how they have reduced the nr of pens to 2, instead of the previous 3. I found that the 3 pens were almost too close in tone, so this is much better. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I also find that since Stampin'Up! introduced the watercolour pencils and now the BRUSHO Crystal ink... there are other colouring options available, so I really don't need another one.... maybe I'll order few next time just to see if I like them....</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">But click on the link above to see the new colour options!</span><br /></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Okay, I know it's been awhile since my last blog post. I returned back to Canada on January 7th, but have been recovering from a VERY bad cold ever since. I actually got sick a week before Xmas, and I STILL have a cough!!! And I've seen a dr, got some meds, but still... it just lingers on.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">But I must be getting better, since I've been crafting for the past few days!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Well... actually I've been busy finishing off a night stand (once it's at its fully finished, I'll post it here).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So this blog post is about crafting.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz9H2SexTr_GvqLsAlaYHlmFZDcQVHv0Pk5l5nFZligeOkQ8KCvRZeBvb_99pP2DXUs7X1u6qK-EUyTuce7tgDGOnE9KvRV2ecQLJUD5IeMX4kKe0V1ldHSFYJjGjofaRfGhRitLHfV9o/s1600/IMG_9775.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz9H2SexTr_GvqLsAlaYHlmFZDcQVHv0Pk5l5nFZligeOkQ8KCvRZeBvb_99pP2DXUs7X1u6qK-EUyTuce7tgDGOnE9KvRV2ecQLJUD5IeMX4kKe0V1ldHSFYJjGjofaRfGhRitLHfV9o/s640/IMG_9775.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Yesterday I made a Wi-Fi sign for our guest bedroom. From this picture I blurred out our network name and password, but on the print they are printed with a very easily readable '</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">PT SERIF</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">'-font. This way there are no questions about what letters, capital or lower case, and numbers there are in the password. You know how some fonts you cannot tell if it's a lower case L (l) or number one (1). But I found on '</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">PT SERIF</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">'-font it's very clear. I used My Memories Suite 6 -program to make the sign (this is similar to the old Stampin'Up My Digital Studio program (same program developer), but since Stampin'Up got rid of the MDS, I upgraded to My Memories Suite, which gets updates regularly.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">(You can still use the old MDS files in this program... too bad you cannot get the new Stampin'Up! images for it).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I also decorated the plain white frame with Washi Tape. The tape is from the latest Holiday Catalogue (no longer available). And the font visible in this picture is 'Jane Austen'.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKg_UFaEZs7EtmQ_lIRBKe9qTnCuS22CybNCox6JxofhnZyafHFPeTzLsd0Qc1SUo0ZLXtDw5ha2AN9lYwIqvgJrz5Lor__6dNRyPSkmWg9r7R3xwCBnX0qWrr1ZA9aUj0whMDc52CAeQ/s1600/IMG_9763.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKg_UFaEZs7EtmQ_lIRBKe9qTnCuS22CybNCox6JxofhnZyafHFPeTzLsd0Qc1SUo0ZLXtDw5ha2AN9lYwIqvgJrz5Lor__6dNRyPSkmWg9r7R3xwCBnX0qWrr1ZA9aUj0whMDc52CAeQ/s640/IMG_9763.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I've also been playing with the new BRUSHO Crystals (available in the new Occasions catalogue, p.26). The BRUSHO Crystals are Watercolour ink crystals!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So you can either sprinkle them on the paper and add water (either by spritzing or with a brush, depending on what effect you want), or you can add water on your card stock and THEN add the crystals. The cool thing is that you never know what kind of result you get. Okay, sometimes it can be annoying, as you want to create a certain kind of a background, and the end result is totally different.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">On the picture you can see the pink and orange versions. They are created with a brush (smoothing the colour after adding water and the crystals). The others are done either by adding crystals and spritzing the paper, or by adding water with a brush and then sprinkling the crystals on it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The biggest problem for me with these is that I have to WAIT!!! So I tried different kind of techniques, then let them dry until the next day (you don't need to wait THAT long, but I didn't have the time/energy that evening to finish them). So the hard part was to go back to the created pieces and trying to figure out what to make out of them. You can also add new colours after you let the original piece dry. I have a card coming up on that also.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So here are few cards waiting to be properly photographed in my lightbox. You can see the pink and the orange one used here (oops, one of the cards had decided to open too much... I guess you just have to wait few days to see it).</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Just too soon for holiday crafts. I got mine, but didn't get to use it until December!!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I love the easy two step stamping with photopolymer stamps. And even if you are not 100% matching, it still looks pretty good!</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">So I made this one card with 3 different colour combos, using the special metallic snow flakes available from the Holiday Catalogue. The pack has 2 different colours of metallic snow flakes - gold and silver. The back of the snow flake is white, so I guess you could use them white also.</span><br />

I don't particularly like Very Vanilla, it's just a bit too yellow. I also don't care for the new in-colour 'tranquil tide'. But in this card, combined with the gold, it just looks 'trafidional'. The pattern stamp in the sentiment 'season' and the deer head has been stamped with Sahara Sand. The wood pattern paper (where the deer is stamped) is from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack.</span><br />

Just using single layer of Thick Whisper White Card Stock!. The stamp is from Merry Patterns special Hostess set. I stamped the outline deer with Archival Black Ink and then coloured the pattern version with Real Red marker (just the sweater part). Stamped the red sweater on the deer and then hand coloured using Sahara Sand Marker the head and the legs. I tried first colouring the stamp with two colours, but the image ended up smudged.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">The border is hand drawn with Basic Black marker. The idea for this card came from Pinterest. I saw a german demonstrator doing this and thought it look very Scandinavian!</span><br />
