Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon, Hot Chocolate.... Fall is here!

So I have been making these fall cards now for couple of weeks. I just love the colours and the cool crispiness in the air.

The first card is Soft Suede and Delightful Dijon card stocks and the leaves are cut out of Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze card stocks using the Flourish thinlits set. This card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.

The second card was part of my Fall Card Class selection.
The background is Pumpkin Pie and the Hardwood is stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake card stock.

The leaves is cut with Leaflets framelits. The second leaf is cut out of Champagne glimmer paper (retired), but looks very similar with Gold glimmer paper (I had stacks of the champagne one, so I ended up using that one instead - sorry).


The tree and the leaves are from Totally Trees and the line is from Mountain Adventure. The pumpkins are from Swirly Bird and I hand drew the lines on the pumpkins (I just didn't have small enough pumpkin stamps!)

This card is made with Sheltering Tree using Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Delightful Dijon colours. 

The Bakers Twine is Crushed Curry and the tree trunk is stamped with Early Espresso.

This is one of my favourite stamp sets. So quick to use and works for every season.
But I have to say, I just LOVE to use it with all the warm fall colours!

Just' Sayin'.... it is SUPER hot summer

We are enjoying (???) the hottest summer in 50 years here in Finland. And let me include, that the houses don't have AC.... that's why the ?-marks after enjoying 

June was kind of rainy and very cold at times but since Tom arrived at the end of June, it has been above 20 degrees ever since. This past week we have had +30 and it's supposed to continue this way for the next week. 

We are planning on going to the cottage a bit earlier - there we have a heat pump that also acts as an AC unit PLUS there is the lake... although after this heat wave the temperature in the lake is probably around +25

So, what did we do today - NOTHING!!! it was just too hot to do anything else than work on our computers and I created couple of cards.

This one is using Hardwood background stamp on Naturals card stock and designer series paper from the Moonlight stack and the new in-colour Lost Lagoon card stock.

The burlap ribbon is a retired one, but you could use even card stock or designer series paper for this. Or any of the current wider ribbons would do also.

The stamp set used is Just Sayin' 

So, just sayin'... enjoy the heat :-)

Peachy Keen - Retro Fresh Designer Journaling Tags

I just love these ready made kits - I just don't use them often enough. Well this summer I'm challenging myself as I brought this kit with me and I'm determined to use them in my cards :-)

The photoframe is made with On Film framelits using Very Vanilla Core'dinations paper (has a bit more texture than regular card stock).

The banners are made with Banner punch from Retro Fresh designer Series paper. I mounted the punched banners on Baked Brown Sugar cardstock and handcut them out.

And as mentionned, the image is from Retro Fresh designer journaling tags set.

I stamped the background with Baked Brown Sugar ink and Hardwood background stamp. 

Picture perfect coffee with friends - say what??

I'm always having hard time figuring out the titles for my postings.

The following two cards have something to do with the title - well - I guess it helps if your title has something to do with the content of your posting - eh?

 

The first card is using two of my TOP sets. Banner Blast from the Sale-A-Bration (I surely hope Stampin'Up! will bring this set, or very similar, in their upcoming Annual catalogue - I would assume so, since the banner punch will be available in that catalogue).

The second part that I just love is the Peachy Keen stamp set and the matching On Film Framelit set - I actually learned that some of the dies in that kit are not framelits, but thinlits. And what is the difference, you may ask? - Framelits JUST cut, whereas Thinlits also emboss!! So you are actually supposed to layer them differently on your cutting pad too. The Framelits are layered: magnetic platform (or your regular BigShot multipurpose platform too), card stock, framelit (cutting side downwards) and cutting pad on top. Whereas the Thinlits are supposed to face UPWARDS so the layers are: platform, cutting pad, THINLIT facing cuttingside up, cardstock, cutting pad.

And did you know that you can also INK your thinlits!!  I actually did that on my camera! I inked the thinlit with Calypso Coral - you just have to make sure your cardstock does not move - otherwise it can be very messy :-) But you can also get the similar effect with core'dinations papers!

Oh and there is a third favourite on this card too - the Hardwood stamp :)

The second card I cased from someone - I just forgot to write the name down (sometimes I just get so excited about the design and forgot to write the name down).

This one has an embossed ampersand shape at the background. Mine didn't pop up enough, so I did this thin "stitching" with my marker on the edges. I wonder if it would turn out better using core'dinations paper....

The splatters are from Gorgeus Grunge set using Crumb Cake, Real Red and Crisp Cantaloupe inks. The coffee cup is stamped with Early Espresso (twice on Whisper white and once on the pattern paper. The lid and the pattern are cut out and mounted on top of the full image of the cup. The straw is a striped paper cut in an angle (both the straw and the "sleeve" are from Fresh Prints paper stack.
