Geneva, Switzerland

Okay.... You must be wondering how many towns they cover in one day!!!!
I had some problems with Internet connections so I'm loading several postings on a same day :-)

After Annecy, we overnighted in Verchaix (France), very close to Mont-Blanc and a ski resort of Le Grand Massif.

What a great little chalet with a perfect view over the valley!!! Now the only issue until that day had been the heat wave that was lingering over Central Europe. Well.... That night we got a relief of it in a form of a GREAT thunderstorm!!!! Let me just say... We didn't sleep that well that night. On top of it all, by morning it had turned into a light drizzle, and we were sleeping soundly, until we were woken up very soundly too - by a next door church bells that first rang 7 times (well... It was, after all, 7am). Then few seconds later, another 7 chimes.... Maybe the bell ringer has dementia and he forgot that he had already chimed the bells??? Or maybe he rang them too early and had to rang them again???
Then few minutes later the bells went off again - in a crazy, no orderly ringing, forever lasting dingdongdingelidong rampage. At the end, Tom and I were lying in bed laughing!

We tried to sleep again, but the bells kept ringing every half an hour - so we got up, went for breakfast and headed towards Geneva (back to Switzerland)

Annecy, France

On our way out from Bienne, we stopped at Neuchâtel

And then continued past Geneva to Annecy (France)
Oh!!!! What a beautiful old town and clear lake!!!

According to the boat driver, it is the cleanest lake in Europe..... Well...  I wonder.... But it surely was turquoise blue (and cold!!!)

Bienne, Switzerland

It has been a hectic summer and we are now on our well deserved vacation in the Alps

We started our trip from Zürich and drove to Bienne.

Bienne is the capital of Swiss watch making and we visited the Omega factory - some pretty nice watches there (sorry, no pictures on my phone from there)

Next we are off to Annecy, France!

Stampin'Up! Convention Make & Take - FINAL part (5)

This one was my favourite one!

I learned how to make the envelope style bag into a treat bag!

Follow this link www.bit.ly/tagabag to see a video how it is done!

The base and the yellow frame of the tag are from "Tag a Bag Accessory Kit" (p.158)

The stamp is from "Tag It" (p.45), which is also this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set!
It cordinates with the Chalk Talk Framelits Die (p.187)

Stampin'Up! Convention Make & Take - part 4

I just LOVE these "Tag a Bag Gift Boxes" (p. 158)!!!

This one has a little cover with Bermuda Bay card stock.

TIP TO CREATE FEATHERS:
- Punch one circle each from the Calypso Coral Cardstock and the Crisp Cantaloupe Designer Series Paper using the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.
- Punch one circle from the Coastal Cabana Cardstock using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch
- To create feather shapes, insert cardstock circles back into the punch
- Fold feather shape in half
- Snip through both layers, then rough the edges to add dimension
- Adhere feathers to the box using Glue Dots

Stampin'Up! Convention Make & Takes - Part 3

This is the new (available as of August 1st) Mini Muslin Bag.

The original in the event was supposed to be stamped with the "Magnificent Maple" stamp, also from the Holiday Catalogue. Well, of course I don't have that stamp so I thought - well... I'm just going to use the wonderful "Truly Grateful". Well... would have been nice, if I would have chosen a bit more saturated colours :)

The sentiment is stamped with Cajun Craze, the other colours are Baked Brown Sugar, Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry. The ribbon is also Crushed Curry (Chevron ribbon)

Stampin'Up! Convention Make & Takes - Part 2

Keeping it with the "Hello, Lovely" -theme ....

this card uses stamps from "Hello, Lovely" and "Gorgeus Grunge" stamp sets. Both are my NEW favourites!!!

The colours are Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit and Calypso Coral.

Key in using the Summer Starfruit is to stamp first off on a scrap piece of paper and THEN on the card (as you can see... I didn't read the instructions with my Summer Starfruit... - oh well)

The twine is White Bakers Twine which I held against Coastal Cabana ink pad and pulled the twine to ink it (you have to do this couple of times to cover it all - although I did want to leave some white showing)

Oh and the blue arrow is Coastal Cabana Core-dinations Cardstock, stamped with Coastal Cabana and afterwards sanded lightly.

Stampin'Up! Convention Make & Take - Part 1

So I got back from the convention on Sunday evening - what a great trip and all the new stuff that Stampin'Up! is bringing us this fall. I got some great ideas for card classes for the fall - Now I just have to find the time to make a class schedule :-)

Well - I think the schedule has to wait until I get back from my summer holidays - there is no time to produce it before

This was one of the kits we got at the Convention. It uses the chevron "Tag a Bag Gift Bags" (p.158) and inside there are 5 simple cards with envelopes.

We can make the Make & Takes at the convention, but I didn't have the time and I have found out that if it is a bag or a box, they usually get torn in the suitcase, so I decided to make them when I got home.

And that's what I did - all 5 projects in one evening!!!! (well... I was downloading new maps to my TomTom navigator and trust me - I was quicker than the TomTom!!!)

There is a little tag that has an Old Olive card stock banner, a Silver Glimmer Paper circle, a piece of Calypso Coral Chevron ribbon and a stamped sentiment from "Hello, Lovely" stamp set in Coastal Cabana. The bag is then tied closed with Bermuda Bay ribbon.

The cards are white Note Cards and Evenlopes (p.162) and stamped with the same "Hello, Lovely" stamp set.

The colours are Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Old Olive and I through in some Strawberry Slush on couple of the cards.

The cards are super simple, but that's the whole idea  - you really cannot make too elaborate cards if you make dozens of these as a Teacher gift or to a bigger groud :-)

Note the little rhinestones in each card!

I am me - a world traveller

I just LOVE this designer series paper. It makes perfect travel scrapbooks and 'Bon voyage' cards

The card stock is Pool Party and So Saffron.
The greeting is from 'Really Good Greetings' (just stamped in sections) and the Polaroid camera is from 'Around the World'
The 'Polaroid frame' is made from the white backing, that comes with designer series papers. I cut the hole on two pieces and glued them together. The new coaster board might work as well too.

The punched image at the So Saffron piece is an old punch which I just have to use once a while ;-)
And the piece is embossed with the new 'Stylish Stripes' textured impressions embossing folder from the new Holiday Catalogue (available August 1st)

Epic Washi Tape!

This card just has all the things I love.
- ledger stamp from 'The Open Sea' in Basic Gray
- Epic Day This and That Washi Tape
- Calypso Coral card stock and splatter stamp from first 'My Paper Pumpkin' set
- sentiment is from 'Really Good Greetings' stamp set

Thank you in Gingham

I just love the cheery and bright feel the Gingham Garden Designer Series Papers bring

This card has the image and greeting from 'oh hello' set stamped in Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay. It also has the Bermuda Bay ribbon and Gingham Garden Washi Tape

Sneak peek from Holiday catalogue

This brown paper bag is stamped with the new 'Truly Grateful' stamp set (Holiday catalogue - available as of August 1st).

The wood pattern is stamped with "baked brown sugar" (in colour) and the image was stamped with "crushed curry"

Mosaic Madness In New In colours

I love the new in colours and the Mosaic Madness, so in this card they both are combined to make a perfect card

I saw this card somewhere and I just had to case it. The colours are perfect and I liked the idea of using the mosaic embossing folder sideways instead the 'normal' way

Tape It - faux washi tape

I just love the look of washi tape but sometimes you don't have it in the colour you want (well you can always make your own - if you have the time).

So when Stampin'Up!s new catalogue had this "tape it" stamp set - I just had to get it.

The colours in this card are 'Smoky Slate', 'Pool Party' and 'Pear Pizzazz' and the greeting is stamped with 'Basic Gray'

Postage Collection B-day

This card is cased (with minor alterations) from a fellow Stwmpin'Up! Demonstrator Kimberly Van Dieoen from Florida.

It uses Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper and Postage Collection hostess set. I had to use a retired button as the colours I have in new colours just didn't work for me.

Sunday 7 July 2013

Happy Anniversary to my dear husband!

This card has bits and pieces from various sets.

The 'hello from' is from 'Wanderlust' photopolymer set, the 'to have and to hold, forever and always' is from 'best of 25 brides and babies' and the 'Mr&Mrs' is from 'Banner Greetings'(hostess set).

The cardstocks are Coastal Cabana, Naturals Vanilla
The inks are Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay
The Washi Tape is This and That Epic Day and the 'frame' is from June My Paper Pumpkin kit.
Embellishments: calypso coral bakers twine and the arrow clip is from 'hung up cute clips'
