Sneak Peek event on Monday May 27th at 7pm!

Remember, I'm hosting a "Sneak Peek" event on Monday May 27th at 7pm!!!

You can see some things from the new catalogue and get your new catalogue at the event (if I ran out, I will mail one to you later)

At the same time is have my annual "buy one - get one free" so you can buy some of my retired products at catalogue prices (some discounted)

Here you can see some clothes pins covered with "Gingham Garden Washi Tape"

One of the coolest new items in the new catalogue is THE SIMPLY PRESSED CLAY!!!

Well.. I have to be honest... it has taken me some time to figure out how to get them "perfect"

First: POP THEM IN THE FREEZER so that they get cold and then it is MUCH easier to pop them out of the mold.
There are 2 molds in the set: Buttons and Flowers. The flowers are easier to pop out and you don't see little imperfections as easily as from the buttons (specially the largest button gave me SO many problems!!!)

The clay is white but you can either colour it ahead of time with ink refill (very messy on your hands - just warning) or you can colour them afterwards with markers or ink.

On some of the flowers you can see some dazzling diamonds. I heard that the sparkle helps to remove the flowers from the mold - and that is true - I just think I put too much glitter in the mold :)

All the red flowers and buttons were pre coloured with "Primrose Petals" ink refill. The Pool Party button was also done with ink refill. The pool party flowers were actually coloured afterwards with pool party ink pad and blender pen.

New stuff!!!

I just love this stamp set (Wildflower Meadow) and the matching embossing folder!!!

The colours I used were "Crumb Cake" and the new in-colour "Baked Brown Sugar"

At the background you can see the other in-colours.

They are all very tasty (Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush)

This card was made with Whisper White Card Stock, Washi Tape (Gingham Garden) and "Oh Hello" stamp set.

I have to say - I LOVE WASHI TAPE!!!

Stampin'Up! will have 2 different washi tape lines (3 spools in both). One called "Epic Day This and That" and the other "Gingham Garden".

The "Epic Day This and That" was already available in April with the "Epic Day This and That" journal set.

I stamped the greeting with "StazOn ink" so that it stays better on the tape.

Another awarded My Digital Studio page!!!

I had such a hard time with this project. I wanted to use this kit, but had first hard time finding a picture that works with "be yourself" -theme.

Then I bumped into this picture and thought - well.. that works and decided to work on the "dreamy" style. All the pastels and soft colours but it was getting a bit too "soft" so I had to move the frame of the picture to the background and put a more "square" frame on the picture. I thought that brought a bit more structure to the page and well.. that is what and who I am - "whishywashysofty, but with a bit of an edge" :-)

The other project I did using the downloads from April was this "hometown" project.

Check out the other projects from here

Retired Colours My Digital Studio Challenge!

Here is my winning design on "retired colours" design for My Digital Studio challenge last week.

View the announcement and next weeks challenge at My Digital Studio

I have couple of tips, when using multiple states:
1) if you don't know the states well (shapes) and exact borders with other states - Get a map with the state locations and alignments with it's neighbors.

NOTE! Once you add the punch, you cannot see what state it is (as I realized AFTER I had added all punches). Instead add your state A, place it roughly where you want it, then add your state B and align it next to State A (you may want to zoom in your project to see better).

2) do NOT try to enlarge the size before you have aligned the states next to each other as you will not be able to resize them exactly the same individually. Instead, group them together and enlarge them AS A GROUP!!!

Once you have them to the size you want, then ungroup. Also some states may be shaped so that they "overlap" with it's neighbour. You may want to "lock" it to the background while you work on the neighboring state.

Date with Flat Stanley - part 2

Once we had visited the Parliament Hill and checked out all the statues - we walked to the Byward Market.

On the way there we saw the "castle" (Hotel Fairmont Château Laurier), the American Embassy and the locks on the canal (they had not yet filled the canal with water, when we walked by)

And we finished our date with - what else - BEAVERTAILS!!!

So, Flat Stanley (and these 4 pages) took me most of last week.
But I got them done and had them printed out in 12x12 pages. Next I have to mail the pages (and Stanley) back to the States - before the school year ends!

Date with Flat Stanley - part 1

what??
Well... if you don't know the story of Flat Stanley, please visit here

So I took Stanley to downtown Ottawa. Last time Stanley visited us, it was wintertime, so this time I tried to find some new things to do with him
